Biography

Shanghai Qi Zhi Institute PI, Professor at Tongji University.

Engaged in teaching and research in the fields of bridge health monitoring, vibration control, and bridge seismic resistance for an extended period. In the research direction of bridge structural monitoring, proposed novel methods and theories such as bridge network monitoring and evaluation systems, as well as hybrid monitoring and mobile monitoring, addressing the technical bottlenecks of insufficient measurement point information and high cost in traditional monitoring systems. This has facilitated the application of big data methods in the field of bridge health monitoring.

In the field of structural vibration control, persistently focused on research and development of cable vibration damping theory and devices, establishing design theories for ultra-long cable nonlinear dampers and evaluation methods for damper performance.

In the direction of seismic resistance of long-span bridges, conducted seismic design theory and experimental research on large-span cable-stayed bridges with deep-water foundations, proposing system analysis methods for seismic response of large-span cable-stayed bridges with deep-water foundations and integrating them into computational software platforms. Established benchmark models and a comprehensive bridge test database for a 1400 m main span cable-stayed bridge, providing technical means for seismic design of major bridge projects.

Digital Modeling of Civil Ingrastructures

Digitally build dynamic virtual models of civil engineering physical entities to portray their attributes, behaviors and rules in a real environmen, and to provide digital bases for transformation and upgrading of technical means and construction methods in traditional civil engineering with big data, Internet of Things, communications and other information technologies.

AI based structural health monitoring and condition assessment

AI based structural condition assessment driven by monitoring data. Integrated development  of software and hardware for structural health monitoring system.

AI based disaster mititation for  structures

Next-generation disaster prevention and mitigation technology driven by artificial intelligence
