Biography

Former Shanghai Qi Zhi Institute PI.

Bachelor's degree from Zhejiang University (1989), Master's degree from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (1992), PhD from the Max Planck Institute for Microstructure Physics in Germany (1996), former Senior Researcher at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the United States (1998-2010), and part-time professor at the University of Tennessee. In 2010, he was employed full-time as a specially appointed professor under the National Thousand Talents Program and as a "Haoqing" Chair Professor at Fudan University. From 2010 to 2020, served as the head of the Department of Physics at Fudan University. He is currently the president of the Institute of Micro/Nano Electronic Devices and Quantum Computers of Fudan University, the director of the State Key Laboratory of Applied Surface Physics, the director of the Micro/Nano Processing Laboratory, and the director of the Magnetism Sub committee of the Chinese Physical Society.

So far, he has published over 100 academic papers in international SCI journals, given invitation presentations at major international conferences including APS, MRS, AVS, MMM, Intermag, MML, participated in organizing more than 30 international conferences, and served as the chairman of the International Conference on Applied Magnetics (Intermag) held in Vancouver in 2012 and the International Conference on Magnetics (ICM) to be held in Shanghai in 2021.
